A king and his retinue were passing through a wooded area for a hunting expedition when he noticed something very strange! More than 30 trees were marked with targets consisting of five evenly spaced concentric rings, and each was shot with a single arrow exactly at the center of the smallest ring.
No shot was off, each was perfect. All were shot exactly at the hub of the center ring.
The king proclaimed, “the man who shot these arrows is truly a brilliant toxophilite!”
Just then, a ten year old boy came across holding a bow in his hand. He said, “Your Majesty, I shot at these trees form varying distances ranging from 20 to 30 feet…but I am actually a very bad bowman.” He was telling the truth, but how was he able to perfectly shoot all the targets without missing a single bull’s-eye?
