I’d guess 35, but there’s probably some trick to it.

25 popped into my head . So I will go with that.

95

Divided by 1/2 means multiply by 2.

Interesting, I think that:

40 divided by 1/2 = 80

40 divided in 1/2 = 20

40 divided by 2 = 20

YET

40 divided in 2 ALSO = 20

Is that right?

95 of course.

40/0.5=80

80+15=95

95.

I hope no-one objects to my jumping in with my answer many times too late….i live in WA and get these long after some of the rest of you do. But I like to put it to my brain to answer. That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?

Matt, you are today’s winner!

Dividing by 1/2 is the same as multiplying by 2.So, 40 * 2 + 15 = 95.

Infinite possible answers. 1/2 is undefined. What is 40 divided by 1/2 a potato plus 15?

I don’t understand Noobypants. Why is 1/2 “undefined” but not 40 or 15?

17

Half of 40 is 20 so 40 divided by 20 = 2 plus 15 is 17

35

Wow!

looks like 350to me

error

Looks like

35

to me

When you say “40 divided by 1/2,” due to the language of mathematical properties is the same as saying “forty times two” which is is 40*2+15=95. The answer is 95.

40 divided by 1/2 is basically saying multiply by 2. So:

40×2=80, 80+15= 95.
